Earth Day at Gritty's!

Help mother earth and get a buck off your beer! Join Gritty’s Auburn and UMVA Lewiston Auburn and the Downtown Lewiston Art District on Saturday, April 20, from 10am to 2pm, to clean-up our side of the Androscoggin River as part of the Downtown Lewiston eARTh Day 2019. Sherwood Forest Trails Clean Up!

Help Androscoggin Land Trust with spring clean up on this special trail system! We will be clearing the trails and the outdoor classroom of downed sticks and also cleaning up any litter. We'll meet at 10AM at the 19th Street entrance to the Sherwood Forest trail system near the picnic table. ALT will provide trash bags, gloves, and some tools, and volunteers are asked to bring, if possible:

  • Waterproof boots

  • Layers of warm clothing, including rain jacket

  • Work gloves

  • Loppers

Union of Maine Visual Artists eARTh Day

There will be several different community clean ups in the area, unveiling of painted side walk murals, fire hydrants, studio & public art tours, local music and a buy local cash mob. Some of the new events this year include: seed swap, river clean up and raised bed planting. The City of Auburn announces the 2019 Bulky Waste Pickup program for residents.Bulky Waste Pickup allows residents who currently receive weekly trash pickup from the City to dispose of materials not normally picked up during weekly solid waste collection. Items to be collected will include furniture, rugs, appliances and more, however residents are reminded that wood waste, including construction and demolition debris, will not be collected. Lake Auburn TRASH OFF Cleanup Challenge

Join the Auburn Police Department and the Lake Auburn Neighborhood Watch group for the 4th annual Trash Off event. Trash Off is a great opportunity to clean up some of the mess left after a long winter and a perfect opportunity to meet your neighbors. This year the event is being held on Saturday, May 18th at 930 am at the Lake Auburn Community Center. Following the two hours of  roadside cleaning, we will have a neighborhood BBQ with burgers, dogs and pizza from Pat's Pizza! Food, traffic vests and garbage bags will all be provided.
